These pictures were taken by Pete Wanless of Cambrian Way, Calcot and those who lived in the area at the time will remember the tendency for flooding of the Holybrook and the park in the winter months.  This was the reason for the Beansheaf Community Centre being raised above the flood level, but thankfully better drainage means that pictures such as these are a rarity these days.

 The young lad in the top picture is now 25 so his Mum and Dad don't mind his photo appearing on this website!
