SNOW

Pictures below show Linear Park in the snow on Thursday 8 February 2007 taken by the Clerk.

For a brief interlude on the 8th of February the Linear Park was transformed into a Winter Wonderland by a substantial (for these parts)! fall of snow.  The woods looked wonderful, transformed from winter grey to virgin white.  Schools closed and children, some of whom may not have seen snow before, joined adults on the park to make snowmen, forts and huge snow balls, and to pelt each other with great delight.  Before lunchtime the thaw set in, but not before many people had had great pleasure walking through the woods or playing in the park.  The daffodils in the woods were poking through the snow and in a few weeks will be in bloom to welcome spring. (The daffodil pictures on the 'Holybrook in Spring' page were taken just four and a bit weeks later!).
