Holybrook Parish Council is permitted fifteen Councillors who stand for election every four years.
The duties and functions of a parish council are many and varied and also depend, to some extent, on what assets are owned by the parish.
Holybrook Parish Council currently owns and maintains the following assets:
- The Beansheaf Community Centre in Calcot which consists of the Parish Office and three halls for hire.
- The equipment on the play areas in Underwood Road and next to the Holybrook Community Centre, including the multi-use games area.
- Five bus shelters.
- Two noticeboards.
The Parish Council pays contractors to empty the rubbish and dog bins and cut the grass in the playgrounds. The Council also pays a contractor to provide a Parish Warden who performs many and varied duties within the Parish including the cleaning of the bus shelters. The halls are hired regularly for a wide range of activities, including a community Pre-school, exercise and well-being classes, dog clubs and Guides.
